Abstract

Electrical and electronic equipment waste is one of the largest growing waste streams in the world. Consequently, for a sustainable environment and economical recovery of valuable materials for reuse, efficient recycling of electronic scrap has become indispensable and should still be considered a serious problem for modern society. The service life of these consumer electronic devices is relatively short and is shortened as a result of rapid changes in the characteristics and capabilities of the equipment. This creates a large waste stream of obsolete electronic equipment. It is the ever-increasing generation of electronic waste and the dangerous nature of this waste stream that provides the answer to why electronic waste is a new problem. With waste in the Krasnodar Territory is the problem of uncontrolled accumulation of electronic waste. A survey was conducted, as a result of the analysis of which, the following factors of the low level of development of the circulation system in the region were determined: the underdevelopment of the network of recycling collection points and technologies; lack of awareness about recycling collection points; lack of a regulatory framework in the field of electronic waste management.
