CHINESE PLAN FOR DEVELOPING HYDROGEN ENERGY

Abstract

Hydrogen energy is one of the most promising environmentally friendly energy sources in the world. Currently, most hydrogen is used in industry as a raw material, reducing agent and high-quality heat source for oil refining, ferrous metallurgy and other industries. Currently, China is one of the largest countries in the world in terms of population and territory, producing 33 million tons of hydrogen per year, 80% of which is “gray” hydrogen, and 27,000 tons of “green” hydrogen. By 2025, China plans to produce 100,000 to 200,000 tons of green hydrogen and widely use “green” hydrogen in all areas. It is expected that more than 50,000 green hydrogen vehicles will be used in China. The use of “green” hydrogen is already included in the development plans of all Chinese provinces. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the development goals and potential of the Chinese hydrogen energy market based on the upstream, intermediate and downstream links of Chinese hydrogen energy.
