MODERN TRENDS OF DEVELOPMENT OF MEDICAL BIOTECHNOLOGIES

Abstract

The paper examines the modern trends in the development of medical biotechnology in the world. It gives the basic concepts and definitions of biotechnology, the structure and dynamics of indicators characterizing the development of the medical biotechnology market in the world. Considerable attention is paid to a literature review on the research topic, which made it possible to study the trend of world scientific research in this area. The classification of the countries of the world according to the level of development of biotechnologies carried out in the work made it possible to identify groups of countries characterized by similar features of the development and use of medical biotechnologies, as well as strategies for creating, borrowing and adapting technologies. Carrying out similar classifications in time will allow diagnosing the changes occurring in the countries of the world and taking corrective actions in time. The study of the innovative activity of small and medium-sized Russian enterprises made it possible to identify a number of favorable trends, one of which is an increase in the share of products supplied for export by small enterprises. The continuation of this trend can form the basis for the growth of innovative activity of small and medium-sized enterprises in the field of medical biotechnology.
