PROSPECTS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF SCIENCE IN THE REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA: INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE
Abstract
Science and innovation play a key role in ensuring long-term economic growth, social stability, and technological progress. In recent decades, there has been a general trend toward increased government investment in science, reflecting an understanding of the importance of scientific research in addressing global challenges, from climate change to digitalization and medical innovation. Despite its limited economic resources, Armenia actively participates in international scientific projects and strives to develop its domestic scientific infrastructure. Nevertheless, the amount and effectiveness of government investment in science remain insufficient to significantly stimulate the country's economic growth. This article examines international experience in financing the scientific sphere, analyzes the situation in Armenia, and identifies the main challenges and develops ways to address them.
