Abstract

The article raises the problem of "smart" specialization of regions. The definition of this process is given, as well as the problems faced by the regions and the government of the country when choosing the path of specialization are analyzed. It is analyzed why this process is so relevant in modern Russia, and why it needs it. The work was carried out based on a discussion within the framework of SPIEF-19 devoted to this problem, which allows us to consider modern approaches to it and look at it through the eyes of people competent in this area.
