ANALYSIS OF THE WORLD EXPERIENCE OF STANDARDIZATION IN THE SPHERE OF PLASTIC RECYCLING

Abstract

Plastic plays a significant role in modern society, providing many advantages, especially in the field of food safety and preservation. But plastic also has its drawbacks. The main problems with the turnover of this product are: large production volumes, short usage time (mainly one-time use) and problems with sorting and processing.

The purpose of this work is to analyze the world experience of standardization in the field of reducing the use and increasing the volume of recycling of plastic waste. Bibliographic analysis was used as the main research method in the work. It is revealed that at the moment standardization plays a central role in the implementation of the principles of the circular economy model and in the creation of coordinated management systems and plastic recycling. Due to the difference in economic, political and legal frameworks, there are currently only a few international standards that define effective and efficient approaches to recycling plastic and other types of solid household waste.
