INDUSTRIAL SYMBIOSIS AS AN INSTRUMENT OF INTERSECTORAL INTERACTION
Abstract
For the implementation of the sustainable development strategy, it is important to find ways to use resources rationally and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The growing amount of waste arising from the activities of industrial enterprises is prompting many countries to revise their disposal strategies. In this context, the importance of industrial symbiosis as an element of a closed-cycle economy is growing. This interaction between enterprises creates environmental, social and economic effects. Industrial symbiosis will become a "lifeline" for the environment and create economic benefits for enterprises. This article discusses the stages of transition of the industrial symbiosis strategy from theory to practice, and also examines the main effects and benefits of this interaction.
