THE OUTLOOKS OF KNOWLEDGE GENERATION IN 21ST CENTURY: FUNCTIONS AND BARRIERS
Abstract
The paper deals with generation of scientific knowledge and prospects for this process. Three key areas are discussed: the possibilities and barriers of automated knowledge generation, the relationship of verification of scientific truth with the search for causal relationships, and the problem of imputed knowledge. Attention is paid to the quasi-monopoly structure of the market of scientific ideas and the resulting crisis of scientific consciousness.
